Obverse description Central field bearing the heraldic shield of Wesemael, displaying the characteristic quartered arms associated with the lordship. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the peripheral legend reading clockwise in Gothic script. The design is characteristic of small feudal billon coinage of the Low Countries in the mid-fifteenth century, with somewhat irregular flan and bold relief.
