Obverse description At center, a boldly rendered olive tree with a dense, spreading canopy rises from a stylized ground line, its gnarled trunk rendered in high relief against a polished, proof-like field. The Arabic legend البنك المركزي التونسي (Banque Centrale de Tunisie) curves around the upper and lateral periphery, flanking the central device on both sides. The date 1960 appears in Western numerals along the lower exergue. This uniface essai was struck on a polished planchet as part of a set of seven paired obverse and reverse trial pieces, exhibiting characteristically high-gloss surfaces throughout.
Obverse script Arabic/Latin

Reverse description The reverse is blank, this being a uniface obverse essai struck solely on one face of a polished planchet. The plain, mirror-like reverse field bears no design, legend, or device of any kind, consistent with the uniface striking technique employed for this series of seven paired trial pieces produced in 1960 with proof-like surfaces.
