Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair and a short beard. The portrait is positioned centrally within a beaded border, with the mint mark 'D' visible at the base of the truncation. The encircling legend reads LUDWIG II KOENIG V. BAYERN, divided across the upper field to left and right of the bust. The engraving displays the refined neoclassical style characteristic of the Munich Mint workshop under the Second German Empire.
