Obverse description Plain paper voucher with a double-rule border in red and blue, printed in a two-colour letterpress scheme. The denomination 'ZWEI MARK' is set in large red letters flanking a central vignette of the Castrop municipal coat of arms — a walled tower above a shield charged with a cross — surrounded by decorative rosette patterns in blue. Below, the text specifying validity for the charity bazaar in Castrop from 15–18 October 1921 is rendered in bold sans-serif lettering across horizontal ruled bands.

Reverse description The reverse carries a silhouette vignette by the artist Herta von Gumppenberg, illustrating a couple seated together in a garden pavilion, drinking and relaxing, rendered in a flat black illustrative style typical of early 1920s German graphic art. Surrounding the vignette, verse text in Gothic script addresses the user of the voucher, encouraging circulation of the notes in support of charitable relief. The issuer name and year appear at foot.
CASTROP 1921
(Translation: CHARITY BAZAAR While drinking, singing, dancing, swaying, Let these notes fly diligently. You ease hardship in costly times - The poor man thanks you, relieved of his worries. CASTROP 1921)
