| Obverse description | Printed in dark red on a cream-beige ground with a fine crosshatch guilloche border, the obverse carries the issuer's name in Gothic blackletter script at the top. The denomination 'zwei Mark' appears in a framed central panel, with series and serial number to the left and right respectively. Two manuscript signatures appear in the lower portion alongside a circular blue official stamp of the Herzogl. Braunschweigische Sparkasse, dated 'Braunschweig, am 1. Novbr. 1918', and an overprint in blue-green letters reading 'Unverzinsliches Kriegsnotgeld'. The top corner of the note has been cut-cancelled. |
