| Obverse description | Central field displays the Danish royal arms — three crowned lions passant within a beaded inner circle, the shield surmounted by an elaborate royal crown. The heraldic composition is rendered in the bold, somewhat stylised manner characteristic of late Renaissance hammered coinage. A beaded border separates the inner field from the outer legend area. The encircling Latin legend reads CHRISTIANVS IIII · D: G DANI, identifying the monarch as Christian IV, King of Denmark by the grace of God. |
