Obverse description Central field bears the crowned royal cypher of King Christian V, composed of interlaced Cs, set within an inner beaded circle. The legend is inscribed in the annular space between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border at the coin's rim. The monogram is rendered in a bold baroque style characteristic of late 17th-century Danish-Norwegian coinage.

Reverse description A crowned shield bearing the rampant Norwegian lion passant, holding a battleaxe, is superimposed upon a cross that divides the field into four quarters. The crowned shield is centrally placed and surrounded by a circular legend, with a beaded border running along the outer rim of the coin. The overall design follows the heraldic conventions common to Danish-Norwegian regal coinage of the period.
