| Obverse description | Cream paper printed in black Fraktur letterpress, with the issuer name 'Bayerische Staatsbank' at top and the denomination 'Zwei Mark' in bold Gothic type overlaid on a large red five-pointed star vignette at centre. Below the star, the place and date 'Nürnberg, den 15. November 1918' are followed by a repeat of the issuer name and two manuscript facsimile signatures; at lower left a circular red bank seal bearing the Bavarian lozenge arms is applied, with series letter 'Reihe E' at upper left and a red serial number at upper right.
