Obverse description The upper portion of the note is dominated by a central heraldic vignette in which a double-headed imperial eagle within a circular medallion is flanked by two rampant lions, all rendered in a bold woodcut style against a dark dotted ground. The central text panel, set in Fraktur script, states the note's validity period and redemption authority, with two red underlines accentuating the expiry date; below, the place and date of issue appear alongside a circular red official stamp of the Bürgermeisteramt Überlingen bearing an eagle. The denomination ZWEI MARK is rendered in large Gothic red and black letterpress type against a dark dotted band at the foot, with ornamental column borders in brown on each lateral edge.
