| Reverse description | The reverse bears a bold multi-line inscription across the field denoting the denomination, reading II MARIEN GROSCH, arranged in three lines and flanked by small six-pointed star ornaments. The circular peripheral legend reads REMIGIO ALTISSIMI UNI, meaning 'to the glory of the Most High alone', with the date appearing as part of the legend. Small decorative stars punctuate the legend at intervals. The overall design is characteristic of the Kleinmünzen coinage of the Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel mint of this period. |
