Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborately interlaced royal cypher 'GR' (Georgius Rex) in relief, rendered in a flowing baroque script. The monogram is surmounted by a large heraldic crown with fleurs-de-lis and arched top. The design fills the flan, with no peripheral legend, the decorative cypher serving as the sole device. The coin exhibits a milled or reeded border around the rim.
