Obverse lettering PHILIP V D G
(Translation: Philip V by the grace of God)
Reverse description Central field displays a quartered shield bearing the lion of León passant guardant, surmounted by a royal crown. The mintmark 'S' (for Linares) appears to the left of the shield and the denomination numeral 'II' to the right, flanking the escutcheon. A partial circumferential legend surrounds the design on the irregularly shaped hammered flan, consistent with the low-denomination copper coinage of Philip V's early reign.
