| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Louis XV facing left, his hair elaborately dressed and tied with ribbons at the nape, engraved in the refined Louis XV court style by Joseph-Charles Roettiers, whose signature 'R FIL' appears at the bust truncation. The circular legend reads LUD • XV • D • G • FR • ET NAV • REX •, abbreviated from Ludovicus XV Dei Gratia Franciae et Navarrae Rex. A pellet-bordered rim frames the design, with a small mint mark chevron visible below the bust. |
