| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Victor Emmanuel III in military uniform with epaulettes and decorations, rendered in high relief in a sculptural, medallic style characteristic of Davide Calandra. The king is depicted with short hair and a trimmed moustache, his collar and shoulder insignia finely detailed. The surrounding legend reads VITTORIO EMANUELE III RE D'ITALIA, arranged along the upper periphery. The engraver's signature D. CALANDRA appears in small capitals at the base of the portrait, just above the lower rim. |
