Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Victor Emmanuel II facing right, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and characteristic full beard. The engraver's signature FERRARIS appears in small lettering below the truncation of the neck. The legend VITTORIO EMANUELE II curves along the upper rim, and the date 1863 is placed in the lower field. The portrait is surrounded by a continuous beaded border.

Reverse description The large denomination numeral 2 is prominently displayed in the center of the field, with the word LIRE inscribed directly below it. The legend REGNO D'ITALIA arcs along the upper portion of the rim. A decorative wreath of olive branches, tied at the base with a ribbon bow, frames the lower portion of the design. Mint mark letters appear in the exergue below the wreath. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
