Obverse description The papal coat of arms of Pope Pius XI occupies the central field, featuring the crossed keys of Saint Peter surmounted by the triple-crowned papal tiara. The legend PIVS·XI·PONT MAX·AN·IVB curves along the upper periphery, with the Jubilee date range 1933-1934 inscribed below the shield. The design is executed in a classical heraldic style characteristic of Vatican coinage of the period.

Reverse description A standing figure of the Good Shepherd is depicted in the center of the field, bearing a lamb upon his shoulders, the value numeral 2 appearing to the left and the denomination abbreviation L. to the right of the figure. The encircling legend STATO DELLA CITTA DEL VATICANO runs along the upper and lower periphery, identifying the issuing state. The composition reflects a devotional iconographic tradition common to Vatican commemorative coinage, rendered in a refined neoclassical engraving style by Aurelio Mistruzzi.
