Obverse description The obverse is dominated by a central intaglio portrait of Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, facing right, set against dense black letterpress text covering nearly the entire field. A red countersign bearing the Italian Kingdom coat of arms, surrounded by the bank name, appears at upper center-right, while two black medallions carrying the denomination '2' and the bank name are placed at upper left and right, with two further small denomination circles at lower left and right. A black frame connecting the four medallions contains the denomination '2 LIRE' and the printer's imprint at bottom center, with the repeated legend 'DUE LIRE' in a cartouche across the lower portion; series letter, series number, and serial number in red appear at lower center.
