| Obverse description | At centre, a stylised depiction of a modern sports arena rendered in low relief occupies the middle field, surmounted by a decorative emblem composed of two interlocking shell-like or fan-shaped motifs. The inscription СПОРТЪТ ЗА ЕДИН МИРЕН СВЯТ (Sport for a Peaceful World) appears in two lines across the centre of the design. The circular legend НАРОДНА РЕПУБЛИКА БЪЛГАРИЯ (People's Republic of Bulgaria) runs along the upper periphery in Cyrillic characters. At the lower portion of the field, the date 1987 appears to the left and the denomination 2 ЛЕВА to the right, flanking the base of the stadium motif. |
