| Additional information |
Panayot Pipkov (1871–1942) was one of Bulgaria's first professionally trained composers, having studied in Prague before returning to develop a national musical tradition largely from scratch. This issue commemorates the 150th anniversary of his birth. His son Lyubomir Pipkov would go on to become an equally significant figure in Bulgarian classical music — an unusual generational continuity in a country that had only recently begun building formal conservatory infrastructure.
