Obverse description Multi-line Arabic religious and dynastic inscription arranged in horizontal registers across the field, divided by raised linear borders. The legends are rendered in a bold, archaic Thaana-influenced Arabic script typical of Maldivian coinage of the eighteenth century. The flan is irregular and slightly crude, characteristic of the hammered technique employed at the Maldivian mint during this period.
