| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Selim III, rendered in the second type style with characteristic interlocking loops, sweeping horizontal strokes (hayt), and vertical shafts (tuğ) rising prominently above the monogram. The tughra fills the majority of the flan and serves as the principal device, executed in bold relief. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, itself surrounded by a rope or cable outer border running along the coin's rim. |
