| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned royal monogram RFP (Regna Firmat Pietas — 'Piety Strengthens the Realms') enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with a small crown placed above the letters. In Type I, the date appears above the crown tips within the beaded circle. The outer legend, running around the rim, bears the name and title of Christian IV, King of Denmark, by the Grace of God, rendered in Latin in a formal early seventeenth-century style. |
