Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Haakon VII facing right, with naturalistically rendered wavy hair and a neatly trimmed moustache, the portrait executed in high relief in a restrained early twentieth-century style. The engraver's initials appear in small characters in the lower field beneath the truncation. A continuous circular legend in Latin letters, separated by lozenge-shaped stops, runs along the upper periphery, while the royal motto completes the legend along the lower arc. The inner border is plain and the outer rim is defined by a fine beaded collar.
