Obverse description Central oval shield of Salzburg displayed within an elaborate Baroque cartouche of scrolling acanthus foliage and strapwork. The shield bears the rampant lion of Salzburg above horizontal bars, surmounted by a mitred episcopal crown with a grotesque mask at its base. Crosshatched lozenges flank the shield on either side, and the entire composition fills the field to the milled border without a surrounding legend.

Reverse description The date 1756 appears at the top of the field, followed by the mint and denomination inscription arranged in four lines across the centre of the coin, with the denomination value at the foot. The lettering is bold and deeply struck in an upright Roman style, filling the entire field. No surrounding legend is present, and the coin is bounded by a plain inner border within the milled edge.
