Obverse description Central field displays the rampant Bohemian lion passant, facing left, set within a beaded inner circle. A crown surmounts the shield bearing the lion device. The surrounding legend, rendered in Gothic-influenced Latin characters, reads MAXIMILIAN II D G R I S A G H B REX, denoting Maximilian II's titles as Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and uneven strike typical of hammered silver coinage of the period.
