Obverse description Armored bust of Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol facing right, wearing an ornate cuirass with elaborate decoration visible at the shoulder and chest. The effigy occupies the central field, with the abbreviated Latin legend FERDI D G ARCHIDVX AVST (Ferdinand, by the Grace of God, Archduke of Austria) distributed around the periphery. The portrait is rendered in the late Renaissance style typical of the Hall mint under Ferdinand II, with fine detail in the armor. A beaded inner border frames the design.
