Obverse description Central field displays a cruciform arrangement of three heraldic shields bearing the arms of Palatinate-Zweibrücken, separated by ornamental foliate motifs. The last two digits of the date (85, for 1585 on this example) appear prominently in the upper central field above the shield arrangement. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with the Latin legend disposed around the circumference within a beaded outer border.

Reverse description A crowned imperial double-headed eagle displayed in the central field, with a circular imperial orb bearing the value '2' on its breast. The eagle's wings are spread and its two heads face outward, surmounted by a single imperial crown.
