Székesfehérvár's Lighting and Waterworks Joint Stock Company — a municipal utility — issued emergency scrip during the acute coin shortage that followed Hungary's post-war economic dislocation. Utility companies, merchants, and local governments across the former Kingdom all resorted to the same solution in 1919–1921: print your own small-denomination paper because the state simply could not supply enough coinage. The Adamo MSZK catalogue documents dozens of these provincial emissions, and the Székesfehérvár series is among the better-documented utility issues.
The 2 Korona denomination sits at a practical everyday value — tram fares, small purchases — which means these circulated hard and survivors in clean condition are genuinely uncommon.
