Obverse description Crowned Russian Imperial double-headed eagle displayed in the field, with wings spread and each head facing outward to left and right respectively. The eagle bears the orb and sceptre in its talons, with the shield of St. George at its breast. The Imperial crown surmounts the two heads above. The date 1828 is inscribed in the exergue below the eagle, with small ornamental stops flanking the numerals. The coin's milled border frames the entire design.

Reverse description The denomination '2 КОПѢЙКИ' (2 Kopecks) is inscribed in two lines across the centre of the field, divided so that '2' appears on the first line, 'КОПѢЙ' on the second, and 'КИ.' on the third, all enclosed within a wreath of oak branches tied at the base. The mint mark 'С.П.Б.' (Saint Petersburg) appears below the wreath. An Imperial crown surmounts the wreath at the top. The milled border frames the entire reverse design.
