| Obverse description | Central field bears the elaborate interlaced Cyrillic monogram of Catherine II (Екатерина II), composed of stylized letters surmounted by an imperial crown. The partial date '17 8' flanks the lower portion of the monogram. The monogram is framed by two symmetrical sprays of oak and laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The coin's rim is defined by a bold milled border of raised beads. |
