Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle and a wreath border, a detailed frontal view of the newly consecrated Salzburg Cathedral (Dom zu Salzburg) occupies the central field, rendered with its characteristic twin bell towers, central dome with lantern, and elaborately articulated facade. The date 1628 is divided by the cathedral's upper towers. Below the cathedral, the crowned arms of Archbishop Paris von Lodron are displayed, flanked by two mitred ecclesiastical supporters. The circular Latin legend encircling the wreath reads: ECCLES : METROP SALISB : DEDICATVR 25 SEPT A PARIDE ARCHIE : 1628, commemorating the consecration of the metropolitan church of Salzburg by Archbishop Paris on 25 September 1628.
