| Reverse description | The reverse carries a central vignette assembling traditional Papua New Guinean artefacts and handicrafts — including a hourglass kundu drum, a ceremonial spear, and bound tools — rendered in fine intaglio line work over a multicolour geometric underprint incorporating traditional Melanesian motifs in yellow and teal. The issuer inscription 'BANK OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA' runs along the lower margin, with the denomination numeral '2' repeated at lower right within an ornate indigenous cartouche, and the Bank's stylised Bird of Paradise logo in a black circular seal at lower left. |

Papua New Guinea's 1995 commemorative issue marked two decades since independence from Australian administration in September 1975. Note Printing Australia had been producing polymer notes since the Reserve Bank of Australia's pioneering 1988 bicentennial $10, and PNG was among the early adopters of the substrate for circulating commemoratives — practical for a tropical climate where conventional cotton-paper notes deteriorate rapidly in humidity and handling.
Pick 15 circulated alongside the standard polymer 2 Kina series, not as a collector-only piece.
