Obverse description Central field bears the numeral '2' enclosed within a circular cartouche, surrounded by a thin circular Arabic legend naming the Ottoman Sultan Al-Ghazi Abdulmecid Khan. The entire central device is encircled by a wreath of stylized palm branches tied at the base with a ribbon, all set within a reeded border. The overall design is executed in low relief typical of Tunisian copper coinage of the mid-nineteenth century.

Reverse description Central field displays a three-line Arabic inscription identifying the Bey of Tunis, Muhammad al-Sadiq, and the mint city of Tunis, with the AH date 1276 appearing in the lower portion of the field. The inscription is enclosed within an open wreath of stylized palm branches tied at the base, consistent in style with the obverse wreath. The legends are rendered in a thin, cursive Arabic script characteristic of Tunisian billon and copper issues of this period.
