Reverse description The reverse displays a thick, multi-line Arabic inscription occupying the majority of the field, identifying the Tunisian Bey Muhammad Al-Sadiq and the mint city of Tunis, with the Hijri date 1276 prominently struck in large Eastern Arabic numerals at the lower portion of the field. The legend is enclosed within a wreath of stylized olive or laurel branches framing the lower half, while additional foliate ornaments appear at the upper field. The milled border is clearly visible along the entire periphery, providing a neat serrated rim. The overall design is characteristic of the thick-legend variety (KM#137.2) issued under the dual authority of the Ottoman Sultan and the Tunisian Bey.
