| Obverse description | Central field features the numeral '2' enclosed within a small circular cartouche, itself surrounded by a bold Arabic legend arranged in a radiating, petal-like formation inscribed with the name and title of Ottoman Sultan Abdulmecid I. The entire central device is enclosed within an open wreath of palm fronds, whose tips meet at the base of the coin. The design is executed in high relief with thick, prominent lettering characteristic of this variety. |
