| Obverse description | Central field displays four Chinese ideograms arranged vertically reading top to bottom, right to left, denoting the denomination and issuing authority of the Great Qing empire. Four Manchu script words appear above as a direct translation of the central ideograms. The design is framed by an ornamental border incorporating two floral rosettes, two six-pointed stars, and four additional Chinese ideograms arranged around the periphery. The overall composition is characteristic of the Qing machine-struck coinage reform series of the Guangxu reign, with inscriptions identifying the coin as a silver 2-Jiao piece minted in the 33rd year of Guangxu (Dingwei year, 1907). |
