| Obverse description | Uniformed bust of Yuan Shikai facing left, depicted in military dress with epaulettes and collar insignia, occupying the central field. The portrait, rendered in high relief in the characteristic rotund style that gave rise to the popular 'Fat Man dollar' designation, is engraved by Luigi Giorgi. A horizontal Chinese legend arcs across the upper field reading 中華民國 (Republic of China), while the regnal year in Chinese characters appears to the left of the portrait. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
