Ukraine's commemorative program for the Sydney Games was ambitious for a country barely nine years removed from Soviet dissolution, with the National Bank issuing a sprawling series of sport-themed bimetallic and base-metal pieces in 2000. The sailing issue is among the more common survivors of that run, struck in sufficient quantities to appear regularly in dealer stocks across Eastern Europe.
