| Obverse description | The obverse carries a portrait vignette of Yaroslav the Wise (Grand Duke of Kyiv, 1019–1054), rendered in intaglio, set against a fine guilloche underprint in shades of blue and green. An excerpt from his chronicle wisdom — «...якщо будете жити в любові між собою, Бог буде у вас...» — is incorporated into the design alongside the denomination numeral «2» repeated at left and right. The issuing authority inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ and the name ЯРОСЛАВ МУДРИЙ appear in Cyrillic letterpress above and below the portrait. |
