| Reverse description | The reverse presents a seven-line commemorative inscription in the field, reading ZUR DRITTEN SÄCULARFEIER DES RELIGIONS FRIEDENS VOM 25 SEPT. 1555 / 1855, celebrating the tercentenary of the Peace of Augsburg of 25 September 1555. The dual dates 1555 and 1855 appear prominently at the base of the inscription, separated by a horizontal rule. The entire inscription is framed by a wreath of olive branches tied at the base, with a fine beaded border at the rim. The composition is clean and legible, in keeping with the commemorative medallic tradition of the German states. |
