| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair and a strong, classical profile. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned. The engraver's signature C.VOIGT appears incuse at the base of the truncation. The circular legend reads LUDWIG I KOENIG VON BAYERN, distributed around the upper and lower periphery, with a fine beaded border encircling the entire field. |

| Reverse description | Central display of the Bavarian royal coat of arms, a quartered shield bearing the lozengy blue-and-white Bavarian field and the lion passant of the Palatinate, surmounted by a royal crown with elaborate arched frame. Two rampant lion supporters flank the shield on either side, each crowned and standing on an ornamental base with scrollwork. The denomination ZWEY GULDEN arcs across the upper legend, while the date appears in the lower exergue separated from the central device by a horizontal rule and foliate ornament. A fine beaded border frames the entire reverse. |
