Obverse description Confronted busts of Archduke Albert VII and Archduchess Isabella Clara Eugenia facing each other at center, both finely rendered in high relief. Albert is depicted to the left wearing a ruff collar and draped mantle, while Isabella appears to the right adorned with an elaborate jeweled bodice and an ornate headdress. The surrounding legend reads ALBERTVS ET ELISABET DEI GRA, disposed around the outer field in Roman lettering between a beaded inner border and the coin's edge. The portraiture is executed in the detailed Flemish Mannerist style characteristic of the Antwerp mint at the turn of the seventeenth century.
