Obverse description Central field displays the Bremen key — the city's heraldic emblem — rendered as a cross-shaped interlaced key device, positioned diagonally within an inner circle. The date appears flanking the lower portion of the key, with the mintmaster's initials (HL) placed at the base of the inner circle below a small decorative ornament. A beaded inner border separates the central design from the surrounding peripheral legend. The circumferential Latin legend reads MON NOV REIP BREMENSIS, abbreviated and distributed around the full circumference, identifying this as a new coin of the Republic of Bremen.
