| Obverse description | Draped bust of Duke Frederick I of Saxe-Hildburghausen facing right, wearing a long curled wig and ornate armored cuirass with decorative beaded shoulder detail. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the baroque manner typical of early 18th-century German state coinage. The circular Latin legend encircles the portrait along the upper and right periphery, separated from the bust by a plain inner field. The coin rim is defined by a fine beaded border. |
