Reverse description A bold long cross pattée extends to the inner beaded circle, dividing the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing a single letter of the mint or issuer's identifying abbreviation. A circular legend in Latin uncial script runs between the inner and outer beaded circles, proclaiming the coin as new money of Batenburg. The cross pattée design follows the standard two-groat (dubbele groot) convention of the mid-fifteenth century Low Countries lordship coinage.
