Reverse description A large double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, each head surmounted by a separate crown and both topped by an imperial cross. On the breast of the eagle is an ornate escutcheon bearing the quartered arms of Bavaria, adorned with an elaborate chain collar. The circular legend VICARIUS & PROVISOR IMPERY surrounds the design, with the date 1740 incorporated into the legend at the lower right. The overall composition reflects Charles Albert's claim to the office of Imperial Vicar during the interregnum following Emperor Charles VI's death.
