Obverse description Facing busts of Henry II of Navarre and Margaret of Valois, jugate and face to face in the center of the coin, with a royal crown positioned above both effigies. Henry is depicted laureate and draped, facing right, while Margaret faces left with a ruffled collar. A small cow, the heraldic symbol of Béarn, appears in the lower field between the busts. The surrounding circular legend is engraved in Latin within a beaded inner border.
