| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Prince Johann II facing left, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the aged facial features, including a short beard and receding hairline, characteristic of his elder portrait. The bust is truncated at the neck and occupies the majority of the field. A continuous Latin legend curves along the inner border, reading JOHANN II FÜRST VON LIECHTENSTEIN, separated by the portrait. The rim is bordered by a neat inner ring of beading. |

| Reverse description | The quartered coat of arms of the Princely House of Liechtenstein occupies the central field, flanked symmetrically by two laurel or oak branches curving upward from below. The denomination numeral 2 appears above the left branch and the abbreviation FR above the right branch, together forming the value 2 FR. The date 1924 is divided across the lower field, with 19 to the left and 24 to the right of the shield's base, and the whole design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
