| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Norodom I facing left, with naturalistically rendered short hair and a short beard, in the neoclassical portrait style characteristic of mid-19th century French colonial coinage. The engraver's signature C. WURDEN appears in small capitals beneath the truncation. The circular legend reads NORODOM I ROI DU CAMBODGE around the upper periphery, with the date 1860 prominently placed at the bottom of the field. |
