Reverse description Central denomination numeral 2 above the word FRANCS, both enclosed within a symmetrical wreath of oak leaves tied at the base, all set against a plain field. The mint date appears in the exergue below the wreath. The circular legend RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE runs around the upper periphery, separated by a dot at each terminus. The design reflects the transitional Republican titulature retained on Imperial coinage of this early Napoleonic period. A toothed border encircles the entire reverse.
